Integrated Framework for Smart City Economic Resilience Assessment (IF-SCERA)
This project is supported under the AXA Research Fund / Swiss Re Institute – Joint Risk Resilience Partnership.
The increasing digitalization of electrical grids enhances efficiency and control but also heightens vulnerability to cyber threats. IF-SCERA proposes the development of a Geographic Information System (GIS)-based, city-level resilience analysis framework for critical infrastructures integrated with multi-criteria impact analysis, with specific focus on economic resilience. The project will have specific application focus on the City of Winterthur in Switzerland.
Objectives:
1.Assess disruptions from multiple perspectives, including infrastructure, societal, and economic impacts.
2.Develop a GIS-based framework tailored to assess city-level resilience, adaptable to different types of disruptions.
3.Identify critical nodes in the electricity distribution network and propose measures to improve robustness and facilitate quick recovery, such as distributed generators or prioritized restoration.
