AXA Award Project in Climate and Extreme Weather
Research Outline
One facet of the research involves detecting predictable global patterns of multiple types of extreme weather events. He also uses a novel method to untangle the interaction of clouds and the large-scale circulation in computer model simulation of heavy precipitation.
In their research, Adam and his team aim both to increase fundamental understanding of atmospheric processes, and to better quantify the societal risks from extreme weather events in a useful way.
