In a milestone for ocean advocacy and sustainability, the AXA Research Fund is proud to unveil its latest publication, "Supporting Science, Acting for a Sustainable Ocean". The launch of this publication coincides with AXA’s participation in the United Nations Ocean Conference (UNOC) 2025 taking place in Nice, France from 9 to 13 June 2025, and the One Ocean Science Days from 3 to 6 June 2025.

This publication underscores AXA’s commitment to protecting our ocean by supporting scientific research and fostering collaboration to tackle today’s most urgent marine challenges. It showcases the impactful work of seven laureates from the Joint Call for Projects by the AXA Research Fund and the Intergovernmental Oceanographic Commission of UNESCO (IOC-UNESCO) on Coastal Livelihoods, and a selection of dissemination projects on ocean science led by scientists funded by the AXA Research Fund

In the words of Julia d’Astorg, Head of the AXA Research Fund: "Oceans are the lifeblood of our planet, yet they face unprecedented threats from climate change, biodiversity loss, and unsustainable practices. This publication is a testament to the power of science and collaboration in addressing these challenges. By supporting independent research and fostering dialogue between science, policy, and society, we aim to create a safer, more sustainable future for our oceans and the communities that depend on them."

The publication is available for download: HERE

Visitors to UNOC 2025 are encouraged to explore the report and engage directly with AXA’s representatives and scientists to gain deeper insights into the organization’s pioneering efforts in ocean sustainability.

Together, let’s take action for a sustainable ocean.
