Metrics for Policy Action in Urban Areas: Characterizing Risks Facing Low-income Groups
At least a third of the population in cities of the Global South lives in informal settlements lacking basic water, sanitation infrastructure, and threatened by environmental hazards. Dr. Johnson collaborates with practitioners, researchers and policy-makers in Tanzania to bring into policy debate how to collect data and measure those environmental risks. This research will enable local decision-makers make informed planning decisions for risk reduction in Tanzania and other emerging countries.
