Comprehensive Digital Communication on Climate Change, Trade and Inequalities in the Economic Growth Between Regions
Climate change is reshaping global trade and deepening economic inequalities between regions, yet the complexities of this relationship often remain inaccessible to those who need to act. The AXA Outreach project, "Comprehensive Digital Communication Plan on Climate Change, Trade, and Inequalities in Economic Growth Between Regions" led by Emilia Lamonaca, a former AXA Postdoctoral Fellow from University of Foggia seeks to change that. This initiative was designed to transform cutting-edge research into clear, actionable insights, empowering stakeholders to address one of the most pressing challenges of our time: how to balance economic growth with the realities of climate change and trade disparities.
The project focused on delivering clear and evidence-based messages on three key topics: the trade impacts of climate change, emerging trade opportunities driven by climate change, and strategic trade policies to effectively address climate challenges. These insights were translated into various viewpoint articles published on prominent digital outreach platforms, ensuring the project’s scientific findings were presented as accessible and engaging content highlighting how regions with different levels of economic development respond to these challenges and opportunities.
The communication plan was tailored to engage a broad spectrum of influential stakeholders, ranging from economists in the public and private sectors, academia, and media to agricultural trade researchers, policymakers, and environmental economists and to reach EU policymakers and non-academic audiences who seek evidence-based insights through platforms like IATRC, LIFE DICET blog, and popular science outlets such as The Conversation, Le Scienze, Unifgmag, Medecc
